SLJ: Would I like to visit Tane Mahuta?

  1. Kia Ora, Amanda!

Well done on completing yet another SLJ related activity.

Wow, I am really enjoying the consistent effort you are putting into the presentation of your blog posts. The colours you have selected really compliment the photo image of the Kauri tree. Keep up the great work!

You didn't confuse me at all, I completely understand if you're not much of the outdoors type. Having mixed feelings is okay, one day you might change your mind about wanting to visit Tāne Mahuta and really enjoy exploring new places. I like that you know what you do and don't like to do. However, it is important to be open minded about new experiences as they might just surprise you.

Tāne Mahuta measures 51 metres in height and has a trunk width of 13 metres. Tāne Mahuta plays an important role in Māori Mythology, as Tāne is one of our core atua's (God's) and governs the forest including all that dwell within it. So for some people, this particular Kauri tree has spiritual qualities.

It pleases me to read that you enjoy learning on digital platforms! The SLJ programme is perfect for you. Remember, It is important to give your eyes a rest. Your eyesight can be strained from looking at a screen for long periods of time.

I can tell from your blog entries that you are putting a lot of time and effort into your work, so well done! Remember to spread out your work, and get some vitamin D from the sunshine in your breaks.

Looking forward to reading more of your great blog entries!

    Cheers,

    Jordan

  2. Hello Jordan!

In the future I might change my mind about seeing this tree because my Mother sometimes forces me to experience new things which I don't mind at all! I can't believe that Tane Mahuta is 51 metres long in height! THAT'S SO LONG! I will take notice of your advice and give my eyes some rest.

One thing before I finish, I'd like to say thank you for introducing the Summer Learning Journey Programme to my school. Without that, my brain would be really lazy and I'd have nothing else to do but play games! So I appreciate that...

    Thank you,
    Amanda
