SLJ: The Great Taupo Cycle Challenge

3 comments:

  1. Kia ora Amanda,

My name is Rachel and I am working with Jordan on the Summer Learning Journey programme this year. I have heard about all of the amazing work that you and your sisters are doing on the SLJ this summer and I am so impressed. Wow!I have been working on the SLJ for four years and this is the first time that I have seen families working together and commenting on each other's work like you are. You are setting such a nice example for others to follow.

Speaking of setting a nice example, this is another great SLJ post. I love that you have friends like Jada, Helisa and Faith who could join you on the Taupo Cycle Race. It sounds like they would each bring their own special skills and abilities to the team. I would love to have someone like Helisa on my team who could bring their loud cheering voice to keep us inspired and keep us going on a lengthy bike ride around New Zealand. Actually, my son, Aronui, also has a loud cheering voice. Perhaps I should invite him to join me on my next cycle trip!

Speaking of Aronui, he has just walked into my office and asked me to come and join him for Christmas breakfast so I better slip away. I'll look forward to reading more of your posts this afternoon!

Wishing you and your family a very happy holiday.

    Bey for now!

    Rachel :)

    1. Talofa Lava Rachel!

It's nice seeing people who works with Jordan commenting on my work, it makes me feel more proud of my work! I have given some advice to my sister Ema so she can improve on making her work more oustanding then it already is, it feels so great when my sisters and I are working together!

Wow, you have been working on the SLJ programme for 4 years now?! How does it feel? Has it changed you or your life?

Anyways, thank you for commenting :)

    2. Talofa Lava Amanda,

Yes, it has been a wonderful four years working on the Summer Learning Journey programme. I always find that I learn a lot from working on the programme and that I have the chance to develop some really lovely friendships. It is the best of both worlds as I am learning and sharing the experience with lovely people.

I hope that you continue to share your learning with your team this summer. I know that Jordan and I are both really enjoying your posts and appreciate the effort that you are making to support other learners. That is really admirable.

Keep up the great work, Amanda.

      Bye for now,

      Rachel :)
