So nice to be commenting on your blog posts this morning, and well done for completing another Summer Learning Journey activity, 'Fabulous Flora'. Thanks for telling us whether or not you'd be interested in weaving harakeke— I'm pleased to see that you've offered your reader the traditional Māori name for flax, well done e hoa! I'm sorry to hear that it was a bit of a frustrating time for you, weaving does take a lot of concentration and a lot of patience. My whaea taught me how to weave a wallet last year and it took about 4 hours to do, but I'm so proud of it and I still have it today. I love the smell of it :) As wonderful as your aesthetic presentation is, I would recommend making the font just a tad bit bigger so that your readers don't have to squint in order to read your great words!
Do you think that if you had someone close to you teaching you how to weave, that you would give it another go?
It was a frustrating experience but I really did enjoy the challenge I received. The Maori culture is so amusing to me and I would give it another go... But wow you created a wallet! I congratulate you for your patience and focus you put for your wallet... Must've been such a wonderful experience for you :)
I'm glad that you can pinpoint that learning to weave harakeke was an enjoyable challenge— it really isn't that easy. Thank you for your kind words, I'm really happy that I've got something that I've made myself, but not only that, something that actually has a functioning purpose.
You've earned yourself another 2 bonus points for your thoughtful response to my comment :)
